Welcome to Primrose Lane Medical Centre

With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

The Primrose Lane Medical Practice which operates from the Centre is owned by six general practitioners, they and the associate doctor work in partnership with a number of other health care professionals. We provide the range of services expected of a modern developing medical practice under a 'Personal Medical Services' contract with NHS Fife Primary Care Division.

We employ, or have attached to us in agreement with the Dunfermline and West Fife Community Health Partnership, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, psychiatric nurses, speech therapists, chiropodists and psychologists.

We are also committed to continuing to provide medical care to any of our patients who, for reasons of health or frailty, decide to take up residence in any of the residential and nursing homes within the area.

Our practice list is currently full.

Booking Appointments online is available through Patient Access through online services.

Medical Education

Primrose Lane Medical Centre is a training practice offering training and experience in general practice to General Practice Specialist Trainees (fully qualified doctors undergoing training in General Practice). As part of their training they have to produce video evidence of a selection of their consultations. You will be asked when you book your appointment and also when you arrive at reception desk if you are willing to consent to your consultation being recorded. You will be asked to sign a consent form before and after your consultation. A recording will not be made of any consultation without your consent and if requested at any time during your consultation, the camera will be switched off. The recording is only shown to doctors concerned with GP training and all recordings are destroyed within 6-months.

ScotGEM Medical Students

The practice hosts ScotGEM Medical Students from St. Andrews University. You will be informed in advance if one of the medical students will be present during your consultation and the GP will request your permission for them to remain in the consulting room during your consultation
